 Protect The Inlet Campaign

Healing Waters and People through Canoe Journeys

Organized By

Protect The Inlet and Coexistence Films

In September 2022, Tsleil-Waututh land defender Will George led a canoe journey in his ancestral waters. Bringing youth and community members to learn traditional ecological knowledge and connect with the Salish Sea. The canoe route followed Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion's tanker traffic route to raising awareness on the impacts the pipeline will have on the ecosystem and Tsleil-Waututh way of life.

This canoe journey brought Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together to heal, and protect the Salish Sea.

Coexistence Films

For three days, over twenty people

came together for the canoe journey.

We laid our medicines down where tankers are anchored, waiting to come into our harbour
